A versatile mini trencher, constructed mainly of stainless steel with an integrated backfilling attachment.
The Shelton System 25™ is capable of cutting trenches from 25mm (1") to 97mm (3.75'') wide to a maximum depth of 450mm (18'').
Used primarily for installing a secondary drainage system over a network of piped drains, the System 25™ may also be used to install smaller land drainage pipes and underground cables.
This machine has revolutionised golf green drainage; 35mm wide trenches are dug, excavated soil is conveyed into a trailer running alongside, 25mm diameter land drainage pipe is laid and Lytag backfill is installed in one pass, with minimum surface disturbance. The backfilling hopper is hydraulically vibrated to ensure consistent filling of trench.
Subsequent repair work is highly unlikely if installation is undertaken in dry conditions.
Undoubtedly it is one of the most economic intensive drainage systems available for established golf greens. In most cases golf greens or any other fine turf surface can be back in use in a matter of hours.
