For placing free-draining sands over piped drain
runs and narrow drainage channels, the Shelton Sand
Hopper (left) can also be used for topping-up trenches
that have settled.
Its unique action consolidates the gravel in the
trench prior to placing the sand over it. Fitted with
twin rakers and two consolidating wheels the sand
is placed firm and level.
The weight of the stainless steel sand hopper is
carried by the tractor and rear roller for greater
consolidation with reduced soil compaction. The floating
skirt minimises turf damage. Depth of sand placement
is fully adjustable.
