Designed by Shelton as an effective way to back-fill trenches when working on a budget, this manual gravel hopper is an ideal companion for those working on smaller areas or where cost is a real concern.
Designed to place gravels into narrow drainage trenches without spillage or contamination, it can be mounted on small tractors, thus minimising soil compaction issues.
Sand Placement Hopper
Designed to work at a forward speed of 5-6 mph, placing free-draining sands and root-zones over piped drain runs and narrow drainage channels. The Shelton Sand Placement Hopper can also be used for topping-up trenches that have settled over time.
Fitted with twin rakers, two consolidating wheels and a wide rear roller the sand is placed firm and level.
A hydraulically driven agitator is used to aid the flow of materials
The weight of the stainless steel sand hopper is carried by the tractor and rear roller for greater consolidation with reduced soil compaction. The floating skirt minimises turf damage. Depth of sand placement is fully adjustable.
