Designed by Shelton, these four award winning trenchers are ideal for installing land drainage pipes and underground services on sportsfields and other turfed areas where mimimum surface damage is demanded.
All of our Supertrenchers are pto driven and fit easily onto the tractor’s 3-point linkage.
Trench width and depth are adjustable with automatic laser grading capability. Optional extras include pipe-laying chutes in a range of sizes, and mini gravel hoppers for simultaneous placing of backfill materials.
Constructed mainly from stainless steel, the trenchers come in four models, 450, 560, 625 and 710. Model number denotes maximum digging depth in mm.
Excavated soil is carried away on a continuos chevron conveyor. Land drainage pipes fit neatly into the narrow trenches cut accurately by the Supertrencher's high speed cutting wheel.
If necessary a narrow strip of turf can be removed prior to cutting the trench. This can then be replaced immediately after backfilling. More commonly the narrow trenches are topped with a free-draining medium, which in turn is sown with a suitable grass seed mixture, or allowed to re-grow naturally.
Gravel is placed accurately above the land drainage pipe to accelerate surface drainage, by using a Shelton Fast Flow Gravel Hopper, this is done without spillage or contamination.
